Essex Asian Table (EAT) is a lively, irreverent Facebook discussion group focused on Asian / Asian American food and culture. We also organize super chill gatherings designed to relax the mind, soothe the soul, and delight the palate.
All with the curiosity to listen, share, inquire or just be present are welcome.
How It Works
01 Online
The EAT Facebook group:
- shares recipes and restaurant recommendations;
- asks questions about ingredients and cuisines;
- exchanges candid thoughts on food and authenticity.
02 In Person
EAT gatherings are, in a word, legendary. Past events include:
- A Midsummer Night’s Curry & Beer;
- The Yin and the Yang of Mooncakes;
- Dosa Party!
Meet people unlike your usual people, over food unlike your usual food — in your own community.
03 For Everyone
All events include:
- ticket discounts for helping out or bringing supplies;
- 10% of tickets donated to those in need;
- a quiet space, apart from the main action;
- the option to mingle (or not) … your presence will always be enough.

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival! Join us for an easy going, potluck grill in a Montclair backyard. There will be separate grills for vegetarian, seafood, and meat items. For dessert (or before)... a tasting of fresh mooncakes. Location will be disclosed to registered attendees.
