We’re the stone in the water, sending ripples far and wide.

What We Do

We create multi-session programs which give a voice to any who are left out, connect individuals and organizations to form bigger stories, and provide larger entities a glimpse into the lives of neighbors as yet unknown.

Dumpling Day of Service

This program pairs experienced dumpling makers with novices to make, cook and package hundreds for dumplings each month for the food insecure.

Each food package is decorated with a one-of-a kind picture of a dumpling drawn by local schoolchildren. Teachers provide lessons in local food insecurity and culture, infusing each into the art curriculum. Each food recipient receives a card that is for them alone, with no other like it in the world.

Over the last year:

  • we’ve welcomed dumpling makers from universities, churches, corporations, schools, and more from ages 6 - 80;

  • schoolchildren have created thousands of cards to decorate each food box;

  • we’ve made dozens of different dumplings from potstickers to mandu to dessert dumplings filled with chocolate ganache.

Organically and deliciously weaving together generations, history, food and more to be a force for good, Dumpling Day of Service has consistently been booked for months in advance since its inception.
